I had read Experiencing God many years ago, which gave me a greater understanding about knowing when God is working in your life, and then ordered Experiencing the Spirit a couple years ago but ended up not reading it when I read that it was part of a trilogy along with Experiencing the Cross and Experiencing the Resurrection. So, as a Lenten discipline, I ordered this book, Experiencing the Cross and followed it with the other two. God was able to reach me through this three book series. I will never again take for granted what Christ did for me, for us, on the cross. I highly recommend it for anyone searching for a deeper relationship with Christ.

This book was beyond amazing. I have Henry Blackaby's other books: Experiencing the Resurrection, Experiencing the Holy Spirit, Experiencing God, and Holiness. Believe me when I see these are books that truly inspire and encourage you to draw closer to the Lord.

Of all the books for an upcoming series on the cross, none has been as concise and yet comprehensive as Blackaby's. Hey rights as a pastor â€“ theologian taking us to deep doctrinal depths and then making application to every day life.

I'm the kind of guy who hates to mark up his books and seldom does, but this book is so full of the precious and incisive comments so typical of Henry Blackaby that I underlined bunches of things in it. When my wife decided that the book was just what another family member needed for what they were going thru, I made a written note of all of the things I had marked, bought a second copy from Amazon (our first copy had been a gift) and marked the same things in that one.

While reading this book I was constantly aware of the Holy Spirit's presence emanating from the words on the pages. It brings out a far deeper understanding of this topic than I have ever encountered. It is convicting.

I have read this book fully. Consumed it, really. And it built a fresh fire within me to be the Ambassador for Christ that Henry speaks of. This book needs to be taught all over again in my church.

About the Author

Song Zhang earned his BS from the University of Science and Technology of China, and his MS and PhD in mechanical engineering from Stony Brook University. He then spent three years in the Mathematics Department at Harvard University before joining Iowa State University as an assistant professor of mechanical engineering. He recently moved to Purdue University, where he is currently an associate professor of mechanical engineering. A widely published and highly decorated SPIE fellow, Professor Zhang is often credited with developing the first-ever high-resolution, real-time 3D optical imaging system. Besides being extensively utilized in academia, the technologies Professor Zhang has developed have been used by the rock band Radiohead to create a music video for the 2007 song "House of Cards," and by Zaftig Films to produce the 2015 movie Focus.

The South’s defense of white supremacy culminated with this most notorious statement of opposition to desegregation. The Southern Manifesto: Massive Resistance and the Fight to Preserve Segregation narrates this single worst episode of racial demagoguery in modern American political history and considers the statement’s impact upon both the struggle for black freedom and the larger racial dynamics of postwar America.

There are also heart-warming ones that take place in the DiNunzio kitchen that make you realize that despite the evil in the world, somewhere there is love and goodness. While everything comes out "okay" in the end, there are some harrowing, suspenseful moments and surprises leading up to it.

I'm starting to read Lisa Scottoline novels like they are candy, one right after the other. I was really excited about this book for the plot it promised and especially because of that classic first line. However I found this as one of the books that was harder to get through. Despite the many, many twists Scottoline came up with this book was slow and even bordered on far fetched after a time. Everyone was just tossing theories around on a hunch and then the actual truth of whodunit was random for me. Yes the story is a page turner if you suspend your belief for a time but as far as great stories go, this isn't one of her best.

I enjoy watching the characters of the Rosato lawyers develop over the series. Glad Lou is back. Hoping Brinkley and Kodach (sp?) return. I did miss Maryâ€™s twin sister when she visits family. This story has several twists and turns. However, maybe one too many. Looking forward to book 6.

This is my first time to read Lisa Scottoline and it definitely will not be my last. Here is a fine writer who knows how to keep the reader on the tip of the page and the edge of the chair. And what a plot!!Every time things seemed to be moving in one direction, Scottoline turned them sharply in another direction, over and over. That is in my opinion what makes a good mystery thriller. The characters are well developed and even the bad guys well defined. It is not my policy to tell what the book is about. That keeps the reader from the fun of uncovering and enjoying for him/herself the joy of a well structured and enjoyable book. Read it and get ready to hold your breath. Highly recommended.

Her legal associates, Lou and Judy, add to this interesting mix of characters, along with Brinkley and Kovich, two Philadelphia detectives who want to wrap this case up quickly and easily.Ms. Scottoline has again created another real winner of a book here. Also, don't miss "Mistaken Identity," her sixth novel.

This was a very good story and it was made more enjoyable by the reader. The story is about a women who is murdered and found by her husband arriving late for a dinner with her and their emancipated daughter who is going to tell her she is pregnant. The women is despicable her. The hubby thinks the daughter did it. He's a lawyer and he hires a green lawyer to the field to represent him when he confesses. The lawyer figures out he is lying. The D.A. wants to go for the death penalty and make an example out of him. A good twist and a very good read by Rosenblat.

The story was interesting but you felt from the start that the main character was not the doer. At times the story moved slowly. All in all I did enjoy the book and will read more of Lisa Scottoline's books.

His books include God as Poet of the World: Exploring Process Theologies (2008) and and Secrets of Becoming: Negotiating Whitehead, Deleuze, and Butler (with Andrea Stephenson) (2010) Henry Krips is Professor of Cultural Studies and Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Humanities at Claremont Graduate University. He specializes in Contemporary European Cultural Theory, Psychoanalysis, and Science Studies, especially the work of Michel Foucault and Jacques Lacan. His publications include Fetish: An Erotics of Culture (Cornell University Press, 1999), Der Andere Schauplatz: Psychoanalyse, Kultur, Medien (Turia Kant, Vienna, 2001), Science, Reason and Rhetoric (Pittsburgh University Press, 1995), and The Metaphysics of Quantum Theory (Oxford, Clarendon Press, 1987).
